Let's take a look at Overt's MIS integration solution, coupled with SSO.
The goal here is to link the MIS database with Active Directory, and Moodle.
With our solution, MIS sends student and staff information to active directory for account creation.
At the same time, MIS pushes course and enrolment information to Moodle.
Moodle identifies missing courses, creating them where necessary.
It also handles student enrolments to those courses Active directory is paired with a shibboleth IDP to handle authentication.
Paired with Overt True SSO, we achieve Single Sign on across college systems.
All this means that students only need to be set up on MIS when they enrol, and their access to all college systems including Moodle is taken care of with a single username and password.
They can log into Moodle on their first day of college and immediately get access to relevant Moodle courses.
