    What is a technology event?

    Technology events are evolving faster than ever before, with many now specialising in showcasing the latest discoveries and niche innovations for a specific industry. This is due to the vast majority of professionals experiencing how technology can positively impact their industries’ success.

    Depending on your requirements and what you are interested in learning, there are a number of different types of technology events that your could choose to attend. To help you navigate this list, let’s go over some of the events you’ll see;

    • Conference – Both in-person and virtual conferences powered by virtual event software are crucial to the technical industry events. They can be held as Business-to-Customer (B2C) or Business-to-Business (B2B) events and are used to educate, inform, or train attendees.
    • Summit – Summits and conferences may seem to be the same thing, but they’re actually different. Summits are smaller and composed of higher-level executives, whereas conferences can be large and are typically attended by mid-level managers.
    • Seminars – You can think of seminars as mini conferences that last one day or a few days. They are shorter and smaller in scope than a typical conference.
    • Trade shows – Trade shows are a great way for companies in a specific industry to show off their products and services. Most conferences welcome the public, but trade shows usually require a screening process before admission.

    How can a technological event benefit you?

    Technical events give you the opportunity to learn about new tools, techniques and other technology-related topics. For companies practicing either events and hybrid working schemes, integrating innovative technology solutions can greatly enhance their employees working experience. A study by American Express Global Business, claims that technology events can increase company attendance by 20% and productivity by 27%!

    When you attend a technological event, you’ll almost certainly find that most people are talking about the same platform, operating system, or programming language you are. This is great because a high percentage of conference conversations will interest you and be effective within your industy.

    When you go to a technological event, you may even save yourself weeks of frustration by talking with presenters who share new strategies and methodologies that you have yet to encounter or need more data to get your workplace to have a trial run.

    How big is the anticipation in technological events all over the world?

    Year after year, the anticipation of technological events keeps increasing. For example, in 2020, many people attended The Consumer Electronics Show (CES), a major trade show for consumer technology. The Event is owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), and it attracts the world’s biggest brands to do business, meet new partners, and debut new products on stage. The CTA updated its figures, saying that it had previously recorded more than 170,000 attendees at their 2020 convention

    The nation’s largest annual legal tech conference (ILTACON) drew more attendees than ever before (up to 1850 attendees in 2020 compared to 1715 attendees in 2019), according to organisers. They say the rapid growth of the legal tech industry and its increasing importance to the practice of law underscore the dramatic rise in attendance year after year.

    While it’s easy to get distracted by the latest shiny new event tech, there are many technologies that can help you achieve your goals. In this article, we will cover some of Overt’s favourite 2023 upcoming technology events.
