Evan Dickerson, a Learning Technologist at Guildhall School of Music & Drama, faced a challenge. But they had trouble with their old Moodle hosting provider. They did not respond to requests for help, and they could not get the software to work properly.
Teachers often have to deal with problems like these, including issues with software, technology, and getting everything to connect properly. However, not everyone knows how to solve these issues.
In the case of Guildhall School of Music and Drama, they initially had their Moodle Learning Management System (LMS) hosted by a third-party provider. Also, for a very long time, Guildhall School of Music and Drama needed a solution to integrate their Moodle LMS with Mahara ePortfolio software. The institute’s educators and students have adapted to using both software for learning resources or assignments. Everything was fine at first, but as their learning institute grows, managing their Moodle is starting to be very challenging for the institute when issues arise. The customer support was not responsive when they encountered technical issues and needed assistance to ”allow” integrating plugins.
